MILWAUKEE---The Chicago Wolves couldn’t muster any firepower and were shutout 6-0 by the Milwaukee Admirals in an Amtrak Rivalry game Saturday night at the Bradley Center.

Admirals goaltender Jeremy Smith (23-15-1) thwarted all 26 of the Wolves shots on the way to handing Chicago (30-22-2-3) its fifth straight defeat. The Wolves have scored just one goal in their last 210 minutes, 30 seconds stretching over the last four games.

Milwaukee (30-23-2-2) scored its first of six goals at the 9:34 mark of the first period. The Admirals skated into the Wolves zone on a three-on-two and center Mark Van Guilder slid an across ice pass to forward Zach Storini in the near circle who snapped a quick shot over the stick of Chicago netminder Matt Climie.

The Admirals doubled their lead while working on a five-on-three advantage at 16:31 of the opening frame. Right wing Juuso Puustinen worked the puck to defenseman Victor Bartley at the far point and Bartley fired a slap shot over the glove of Climie.

Climie (16-9-0) posted 30 saves on 36 shots.

Milwaukee center Ben Ryan scored the only goal of the second period, while Admirals forwards Kevin Henderson (2G) and Chris Mueller posted markers in the third period to close out scoring.

The Wolves host the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Barons at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Allstate Arena.
