MacIntyre Ices The 'Hogs, 3-0

MacIntyre (20-15-2) turned aside 33 shots to pick up his third shutout of the season and forwards Matt Anderson (G, A) and Jason Krog (2A) led the way for Chicago (46-20-1-6), who clinched home ice for the first two games in the West Division Semifinal with the win. The team holds an eight-point lead for first place in the West Division with seven games remaining in the regular-season.

Anderson put the Wolves on the board early in the first period. Rockford netminder Corey Crawford made an initial save on a shot from the point by defenseman Arturs Kulda, but Anderson was there to slide in the rebound for the 1-0 lead at 1:27.

Crawford (21-16-2) posted 18 saves for Rockford (41-28-3-3).

Defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy made the Wolves lead two with a power-play tally at 9:29 of the second period. Deep in the corner, Anderson passed the puck to Vishnevskiy on the far point, who then slapped a shot through traffic and past Crawford.

Right wing Spencer Machacek gave Chicago an insurance goal with the Wolves second power-play goal of the night at 17:14 of the third period. Center Johnny Pohl dropped the puck back to Krog along the boards and Krog sent a centering pass into the crease, which Machacek redirected through Crawford’s five-hole.

The Wolves continue their regular-season slate when they face the Texas Stars at the Allstate Arena, tomorrow, at 3 p.m.
